Grandma’s Fluffy Chocolate Chip Cookies


INGREDIENTS


1 c Shortening

1 c Light Brown Sugar

2 Eggs

1 tsp Baking Powder

½ c Warm Water

1 tsp Baking Soda

2 tsp Vanilla Extract

2-½ c All-Purpose Flour

½ pkg Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips









INSTRUCTIONS


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.

  2. In a bowl, mix Shortening and Light Brown Sugar until creamy.

  3. Slowly beat in the Eggs until just mixed.

  4. Add Baking Powder and Vanilla.

  5. In a separate measuring cup, mix Baking Soda into Warm Water.

  6. Slowly add some flour then some of the Soda Water mixture into the large bowl. You should add each one alternatively at least 3 times until all have been added.

  7. Add in Chocolate Chips until just mixed.

  8. Portion dough onto cookie sheets. Bake 1 sheet at a time for 8 to 10 minutes until cookies are golden around the edges.

  9. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 1 minute before moving to the cooling rack to finish cooling.
